About Us
HorseWorld is a Bristol-based charity who have been rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing horses and ponies in need since 1952. We currently care for around 100 horses, ponies and donkeys on our site, and provide after-care and support for around 200 more who have been re-homed throughout the South-West.
HorseWorld’s Discovery programme equips young people with competencies and life-skills that give them the best possible chance of succeeding, and building their resilience and positivity.
The programme:
• uses specially selected rescued horses as a method of equine assisted learning
• supports emotional growth and learning through a curriculum combining outdoor physical activity and close contact with horses
• improves students’ capacity to concentrate; communicate; interact; work as a team member; be self motivated; feel confident, and exercise self control
